Product details
The work on the new edition of the guide was nearly complete when Hannes Salvenmoser tragically passed away in July 2009 in the Rofan Mountains. Hannes was the driving force behind the project - the new edition of the climbing guide for "his" little paradise behind the front door is meant to commemorate a very special person and climber who significantly shaped climbing in the Rofan Mountains. Mike Rutter, Hannes Marbler, Andreas Kirchner, and Hannes' partner Maria Mühlbacher have completed his work, while Ralf Sussmann contributed the northern section, just as he did for the first edition. Nestled between the mighty Karwendel and the famous Kaiser, the small Rofan Mountains stand out as a particularly unique climbing area, both in terms of landscape and climbing experience. Modern alpine sport climbing and traditionally influenced adventure climbing coexist here as closely as nowhere else.
