Classroom management addresses some of the most important questions that every teacher faces in practice. How are entry and initial situations designed? What communication and behavior rules have proven effective in the classroom, how are such rules introduced, and how are they enforced? How can the competencies of learners be promoted, and how can assessments be designed to be both meaningful and fair? How can structure be brought into teaching so that learners are supported according to their potential? In their discussions, the authors focus on three central principles: Calmness or inner peace is the ability to maintain composure even in difficult situations. Structure refers to the organization of teaching, from individual lessons to the school day, and up to half-year and yearly planning. Joy is an emotional response to positive memories and pleasant encounters with learners, as well as with colleagues. Such emotions are transferred to the learners and contribute to their motivation to engage with the content of the lessons.
