Product details

Since the second half of the 2010s, a phenomenon known as clan crime has become a subject of public debate in Germany. Central to the relevant discussions are familial networks attributed to ethnic minorities and associated with various forms of deviant behavior. This includes, for example, spectacular thefts and robbery offenses, organized crime, such as in the areas of drug offenses and human trafficking, various forms of everyday crime, business activities of varying legality, and even non-criminal actions perceived as provocative claims to public space. There is currently no uniform and consensus-based definition of the term clan crime. This work provides an overview of the relevant German and English-language professional and research literature. A total of 104 publications from the years 2000 to 2021 were included. Based on this, the appearance, possible conditions of emergence, and societal, particularly security authority, reactions are systematically presented and explained.
