At almost eleven and almost thirteen years old, it is finally time for Jo and Mücke's first riding lesson. In the neighbouring riding stable, the Spanish riding instructor Joseba takes care of the two and teaches them how to ride according to old tradition and art. Besides their new four-legged friends Trude and Kimba, they also get to know Zitrönchen. The most beautiful horse in the world is also the most frightening horse in the stable. Just as Jo and Mücke are getting to know Zitrönchen better, Zitrönchen disappears overnight and Wölkchen takes his place. Jo, who is heartbroken, soon finds out that something is wrong with Wölkchen.
