Product details
Wart Castle is located on the southern slope of the Irchel in an extensive vineyard area. Its architecture is striking and reminiscent of Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The Wart estate languished in obscurity until numerous documents arrived in Neftenbach, revealing its history. The Neftenbach historian Eugen Ott reviewed and organized the purchase contracts, certificates, autobiographical notes, and personal letters. This resulted in a detailed picture of the various estate owners, particularly the Sulzer-Wart family from Winterthur and their significance in politics, society, trade, and their international relations. The documents also express the human details, struggles and sufferings, joys, and celebrations.
