Professionals from various fields, people with disabilities, and their families are grappling with these ethically sensitive questions. The techniques of prenatal diagnostics are continuously improving. Does this not also increase societal pressure to utilize them? Preimplantation diagnostics, which will soon be permitted in Switzerland, aims to detect damage to the embryo in the test tube. But when is the application of this procedure justified?
