The conclusion of the active academic service of Severin Johann Lederhilger OPraem is an occasion for colleagues, friends, students, and companions from the academic world of Austria and beyond, as well as members of the religious order, to honor the professor of canon law and head of the Institute for Canon Law at KU Linz, the Premonstratensian abbot of the Schlierbach monastery, the general vicar of the Diocese of Linz, and the vice-official of the diocesan court of Linz with a festschrift and to acknowledge his scholarly work. The festschrift is titled "Canonist, Religious, and Shaper." It not only refers to Lederhilger's fruitful research activities in the field of canon law of the Catholic Church but also to the many valuable services he has provided for the institutional and legal shaping of church life and religious life, as well as in canonical and pastoral counseling.

The contributions from the authors of the festschrift address essential research areas of Univ.-Prof. Mag. theol. Dr. iur. Dr. iur. can. Severin Johann Lederhilger, but also engage with fundamental and current issues in canon law, religious law, and interreligious dialogue.
