The Building Use Ordinance (BauNVO) is the central regulatory framework for the planning and use of land and buildings in Germany. For all those involved in public building law, this 14th edition of the standard commentary will be an indispensable guide. The commentary explains the BauNVO in detail and in an understandable manner, providing practical recommendations for the implementation of the regulations. The 14th edition takes into account all legislative changes that have occurred since the publication of the previous edition. In particular, it addresses the numerous amendments to the BauNVO made by the Land Mobilization Act of June 14, 2021, which aims to promote the creation of housing and the mobilization of land for construction. The law for the immediate improvement of the framework conditions for renewable energies in urban planning law, dated January 4, 2023, which specifically addresses the use of photovoltaics and solar thermal energy in buildings and on open spaces, as well as the promotion of energy efficiency and sustainability, has also been included, along with the law to strengthen digitalization in the building planning process and to amend other regulations from July 3, 2023.
