Christiane Baumgartner - White Noise

For some years now, the Leipzig artist Christiane Baumgartner has been known internationally mainly for her large-format woodcuts based on photographs and video stills. However, the very strong visual language she has developed is not limited to the horizontal line structures usually associated with her works, but now reaches far beyond that and includes other techniques than just the woodcut. The book therefore not only offers an overview of her woodcuts, but also shows the continuity of her artistic development, the thematic range of her works and, above all, gives an outlook on her latest works. The catalogue raisonné, compiled jointly by the editor Christian R&uuml melin and the artist, contains for the first time a complete and illustrated list of her prints produced from 1990 to the present day.
