The greatest miracle in the Catholic Church is the holy Eucharist, the real presence of Christ in the sacrament of the altar. Christ is truly and really present in the host, with flesh and blood, with divinity and humanity, and that is why we kneel before him. Throughout the history of the Church, numerous eucharistic miracles have occurred, including miracles of hosts and blood; miraculous healings during the eucharistic blessing, such as with Brother Leo Schwager in Lourdes; miraculous protection from enemies, like Saint Clare of Assisi, who drove away the Saracens with the monstrance; miraculous nourishment, as experienced by Brother Klaus and Therese Neumann, who sustained themselves solely on the host for decades; and miracles of conversion. Dr. Maria Haesele, a secondary school teacher in Zurich, has carefully researched such reports and published them in this work.
