Christian Witt-Dörring

Kolo Moser was one of the most significant universal artists in Vienna at the turn of the century and is considered one of the leading representatives of Art Nouveau. His work encompasses painting, graphics, and crafts, as well as fashion and furniture designs, lighting fixtures, stage decorations, stained glass windows, book illustrations, and even banknotes. As a pioneer of the art of his time, he was a founding member of the Vienna Secession and established the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903, together with architect Josef Hoffmann and industrialist Fritz Waerndorfer. The goal of this production community of visual artists was to realize the total work of art at the highest level of craftsmanship. Approximately 400 objects, systematically presented and explained through essays, offer a new perspective on his impressive body of work.
