Abstract: This paper will discuss the extent to which the developmental trajectory of children raised in rainbow families is influenced. What risks and opportunities affect the development of children with same-sex parents, and what is their specific impact? My paper includes two different family backgrounds of rainbow families. On one hand, it considers same-sex couples whose children come from a previous heterosexual relationship and have been adopted by the social (co-)parent. On the other hand, it includes rainbow families that have had a child within the same-sex partnership.
