C'est la vie

That's life. In all those many years, everyone should experience it, I have fought day in and day out. Today I know it had to be this way. I always preserved what I had, remained grounded. What pained me, I forgot, as if I had never possessed it. I fought for what I wanted, even facing some defeats along the way. What I had, I valued greatly; I wanted nothing else. How often have I forgiven others, for they too have only this one life. I suffered, I loved, I laughed, I walked the path of life. Was it all perhaps in vain? No, every beginning is indeed hard, and sometimes it feels like nothing is going right, when all the snow melts away, and life simply rushes by. I tucked it away and rose again and again from the ashes. Dreams have kept me alive; can I shape them rightly for myself? I know, when reality becomes stronger, I will be all alone again. But I will not be bent; my dreams will prevail. The wind blows to the north, east, south, or west. I will take the path that is best for me. The stars will guide me, and my dreams will accompany me. I will continue to love, suffer, fight, and win. Always trying to escape. And I will do this with all the necessary energy until life says: It is done!.
