A career like that of graphic artist Celestino Piatti (1922-2007) is truly unique: his images have left a lasting impression on the collective consciousness. Particularly notable are his over 6000 book covers, which he designed for the German Taschenbuch Verlag from 1961 to the mid-1990s, his unmistakable posters, and his children's books translated into many languages, all of which have shaped several generations of readers. Piatti also created paintings, lithographs, illustrations, and sculptures that are part of his rich artistic legacy, both ideologically and materially. In 2022, Celestino Piatti would have turned 100 years old. This anniversary provides an opportunity to honor his unique oeuvre in a picture book.
