Léane, a teenager with Italian roots, meets her neighbour Celeste. As the daughter of an Italian seasonal worker, Celeste experienced the effects of the seasonal worker statute, which prohibited family reunification in Switzerland, first-hand. As a child, she was forced to hide and live in secret in the 1960s and 1970s. Through Léane's eyes, the story of many immigrant Italian families in Switzerland comes to life.
