Cassandra Darke

Cassandra Darke is a London art dealer, a self-centered, quirky old lady residing in upscale Chelsea. After selling unauthorized copies of a deceased artist's work, her shady dealings come to light: her reputation and that of her gallery are ruined, yet her arrogance remains intact. When she offers shelter to performance artist Nicki for a few months, Cassandra becomes embroiled in a murder case that takes her from her elite enclave into the darker parts of London, forcing her to confront some painful truths about herself. Posy Simmonds weaves a socially critical panorama, intergenerational comedy, and psychological portrait into a comic that does justice to its medium both visually and narratively.
