Caspar David Friedrich

To celebrate the 250th birthday of Caspar David Friedrich, one of the most significant and beloved German painters, numerous publications are being released, including several exhibition catalogs. The work presented here offers an overview that features a newly discovered drawing and the Karlsruhe sketchbook, which will be auctioned on November 30, 2023, for the first time in connection with the complete works. This provides a perspective on the early works that has not been available until now. Since the painter's oeuvre is manageable, all important oil paintings and many of Friedrich's drawings can be illustrated and discussed. The author and publisher, Dr. Michael Imhof, places great value on the print quality and generous illustration of the book, which encompasses all significant works.
