Product details
The book presents the life and works of the deaf-mute artist Carl Gotthold Gross (1786-1854). Born in Frohnau near Annaberg, trained in Leipzig, and working in Eibenstock, this miner's son was a significant visual documentarian of events, buildings, and towns in the Ore Mountains and Western Ore Mountains during the first half of the 19th century. Even after years of research, not all of his works have been discovered, although many are likely to be lost forever.
