Product details
Albert Camus was already a legend during his lifetime as a successful writer, philosopher, and womanizer. His philosophical discovery remains a provocation to this day. Like all great philosophers, Camus posed the question of the meaning of life. However, his answer is completely out of the ordinary. Of course, the question of meaning has always been answered differently. For Plato, it is the Good that holds the world together at its core; for Hegel, it is the World Spirit; for Marx, the relations of production; for Sartre, freedom; for Nietzsche, the will to power; and for Habermas, the development of communicative reason. Essentially, every philosopher provides their own answer to the question of meaning. Not so with Camus. He has none. Worse still, he does provide an answer, but it is extremely sobering. In response to the question "What is the meaning of life?" he simply states: There is none. That's it.
