Product details

In the 1970s, a political backlash against the expansion of social rights began in Western Europe and the USA. In the "war between civil rights and the capitalist class system" (Thomas H. Marshall), the advocates of the class system have since regained the upper hand. The result is a society that is drifting apart. This situation challenges criticism in two ways: on one hand, it is necessary to identify the driving forces behind the division movement, and on the other, to raise the question of what kind of society one wants to live in. This question can only be answered through the contradictions and conflicts within society. Both forms of criticism are the focus of this book. They are particularly urgent in light of the rise of an international right that seeks to exploit this division to replace society with the exclusive "us" of nationalist and ethnic communities.
