Camille, Hugo and the thing with the stinky sock
German, Anke Dörrzapf, Franziska Höllbacher, 2023Product details
A wonderfully thrilling children's mystery for reading aloud. Camille works in the art industry. She wears horn-rimmed glasses and black turtlenecks, of course. Oh, and Camille is a rat. She lives in an art museum filled with many paintings and statues. Camille knows her way around.
Unlike her roommate. Hugo is a flying fox, and he couldn't care less about art. To him, all the paintings look the same. Just colorful. Sometimes, Hugo secretly nibbles on a lemon from a Beuys installation. But only when Camille isn't watching. Otherwise, there will be trouble.
One day, Camille observes strange people. They are so different from the museum visitors she usually eavesdrops on. These two guys only talk about the alarm system, not a bit about brush strokes or color palettes.
When Camille hears noises at night, she becomes suspicious. And indeed, two people have just taken a painting off the wall. In the dark! How is she supposed to catch them in the act? Just then, Hugo swoops in. One painting more or less wouldn't matter to him. But the thieves are about to pack up his favorite slide. The slide that Camille claims is a sculpture by a two-legged named Michelangelo. The flying fox and the rat need to come up with a plan! Luckily, the two have good eyes, good noses, and good ideas.
