Author's text
Bill Watterson (actually William B. Watterson II) is the author and cartoonist who was born on July 5, 1958, in Washington D.C. When he was six years old, the family moved to Ohio. There, Watterson successfully completed his studies in political science in 1980. He is now married to his wife, Melissa. Watterson lives a reclusive life, avoids the public eye, and hates being in the spotlight or being regarded as a "celebrity." Since the late 1980s, the popular artist has not given any interviews. Therefore, not much is known about him as a person. Just five years after graduating, Watterson published the cult comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes." For ten years, he illustrated the adventures of the little boy and his stuffed tiger until he published the last strip featuring the little troublemaker and his plush tiger on December 31, 1995, at his own request. By the end of his career, his comic strip was printed in more than 2,300 different newspapers worldwide, and the sales of the individual collected volumes now stand at around 30 million.
Blurb
Nothing can stop these two! The charm of Calvin and Hobbes remains unbroken. The childish anarchist and his tiger have captured the hearts of readers, and consequently, the first two volumes have become a great success.
