Callus Culture

"Callus Culture" is a specialized book that focuses on the application of callus culture in plant breeding, particularly regarding the challenges posed by drought in arid and semi-arid regions. The book provides a comprehensive analysis of in vitro culture of plant cells and tissues, highlighting their significance for understanding physiological aspects and genetic processes in plants. An innovative approach is presented that allows cultivated cells to be considered as selection units independent of the whole plant. By using high molecular weight osmotic substances such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) to induce drought stress, an efficient and rapid screening method for improving the breeding of sorghum genotypes under drought conditions is demonstrated. The results of this research could be crucial for developing plants that are better adapted to extreme environmental conditions.
