C. G. Jung und Meister Eckhart

C. G. Jung was inspired throughout his life by Meister Eckhart, as he repeatedly confesses in his autobiography "Memories, Dreams, Reflections" and also in his later letters. A central idea and experience of Meister Eckhart was the "birth of God in the soul": God and the soul are united, in the "spark of the soul" inextricably connected. This mystical conception of the soul particularly touched Jung and influenced the development of his central concept of the "Self" more than has been previously considered in Analytical Psychology, as Ingrid Riedel points out.
