Shop-Floor-Management

Executives look at deserts of numbers and charts, often only having a superficial understanding of production facilities and processes. This is a common reality in many companies. It is a consequence of increasingly lean and efficient production and a streamlined management structure. For many years, lean production was considered the recipe for success. However, to remain competitive in Germany's economic landscape in the future, it will not be enough to produce cost-effectively alone. Only those companies that can sustainably create value without waste and smoothly will succeed. This can only be achieved if management leaves the ivory tower of the executive floor and engages with what is happening on the ground. Leadership on-site, shop-floor management, is the challenge of the future. This requires a somewhat radical change in mindset among executives: genuine presence.
