Bühnen des Bewusstseins – Die Pesso-Therapie

The treatment method developed by Albert Pesso and his wife Diane Boyden-Pesso, known as the Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP) – or Pesso therapy for short – was originally a body therapy aimed at bringing existing bodily experiences to consciousness and conveying new ones, based on the unity of body and psyche. It evolved into a psychodramatic method that utilizes interactive scenes in role-playing to bring childhood memories to the surface with great emotional intensity. It uniquely creates and utilizes resources, generating a strong contrast in the experiences of patients: profound pain and immense injustice are juxtaposed with directly experienced happiness, satisfaction, and a sense of justice. Contributors demonstrate principles and pathways for how developmentally traumatized individuals can be given a sense of safety, calm, and hope through a controlled, body-oriented psychotherapeutic approach by generating synthetic, attachment-oriented, and body-based memories.
