A Swiss entrepreneur encounters a young English couple at a luxurious resort in the Tunisian desert, where they are celebrating their wedding with friends, parents, and relatives. They can afford it because they are all successful investment bankers from London. However, the day after the wedding night brings a nasty surprise: the English financial system collapses, the Prime Minister announces a state bankruptcy, many English banks go bankrupt, and a large number of employees are laid off. This existential crisis exposes barbaric roots within the wedding party. Swiss author Jonas Lüscher, who lives in Munich, tells the story of the consequences of the financial and banking crisis in times of globalization in this gripping novella, published in 2013.
