Why this theater of words and sentences? From speaking, a spark can arise. And what does this spark do? It allows us to see what would otherwise have remained in the shadows around the words.

But, you might ask further... Why words, speaking, city? Speaking creates spaces. Even very real, urban ones. Words are highly unstable things that leap from language into urban reality – into any reality. Because words, similar to amoebas, assimilate or expel particles, reshape realities, and in exceptional cases, even revolutionize them.

How do ideas of the city emerge? Of social reality? Of truth? Or lies? Who pre-fabricates them? Constructs? Manipulates? How do we tinker with reality while speaking and listening? Why can no sentence be uttered that does not immediately influence the way we perceive reality? Why does reality also get constructed by what is not currently being spoken about?

"Precarious Complicity" investigates the mysterious, spatial events that occur when observing words, sentences, and ways of speaking.
