Broken Bread

Andrea stands with two children in front of the ruins of her life. The shards of her relationship with her manic-depressive husband, her own illness, and the looming unemployment have driven deep wounds into her soul. She is at the end, shattered and broken. In a moment of complete hopelessness, she pleads with God for help. The same is happening elsewhere with entrepreneur Franz Lermer. After the reunification, he experienced the gold rush in the East and left his Bavarian homeland for it. When his company goes bankrupt, his world collapses. Just as he has managed to pick himself up and return to success with a new business, his wife unexpectedly passes away. Alone with the children, he now stands helpless before God, asking for support. Their prayers do not go unheard in the universe. The two find each other; they experience it as guidance. From that moment on, everything changes.
