Briefe an Simone de Beauvoir und andere

This second volume of Sartre's correspondence with Simone de Beauvoir and a few others contains for the most part his letters from the front. It reports on the progress of his first novel, "Zeit der Reife", on his varied reading and his "diaries", to which he wrote daily. He observes and analyses his own behaviour in this abstruse phase of the war and that of his comrades and sketches the first drafts of his philosophy. Letters from the front are followed by several letters from German captivity and the post-war period, in which he deals with his sudden fame.
