Brennendes Geheimnis

At twelve years old, Edgar is on the edge of his childhood. The people in the world of adults appear to him as loose puppets and dead toys, and so he lives hard behind dreams, the unreal, and the unattainable, until he feels betrayed by those he has previously met with trust, love, faith, and respect. They almost force him to push aside the barrier of his childhood, to uncover its secret, which he cannot interpret. He has traveled to Semmering with his mother for the sake of his health and unexpectedly believes he has found a friend in a young baron there - but he must quickly realize that the baron's kindness is directed not at him, Edgar, but at his mother. More and more, he feels sidelined, and more and more, he senses how the adults lie to him when they focus on what he still has left.
