Climate change is also noticeable in the plant world, with warmer and drier summers and increased extreme weather events leading to significant changes. The new publication "Climate Change in the Plant Kingdom - Alpine Plants in Focus" portrays 24 botanical gardens in Switzerland and 24 alpine plant species, highlighting their responses to climate change. For example, global warming causes many plant species in the mountains to grow at higher elevations and expand their range. However, there are also losers: some species are becoming rarer and occupy a narrower elevation range than they did about 50 years ago.
