Among the many disciplines that deal with the topic of modern technology is the philosophical foundational discipline of ontology, which reflects on being and the beings. The most well-known attempt in this regard was undoubtedly that of Martin Heidegger. The philosopher Emanuele Severino, who is little known in the German-speaking world yet increasingly discovered worldwide, has extensively engaged with Heidegger's endeavor. This is a profound exploration of the reconstruction of the conceptual grammar of Western culture from classical Greece to our present day – an authentic drama with two protagonists: Heidegger and Severino.
