Blut ist nicht Wasser. Option, Krieg und vergessene NS-Opfer aus Südtirol

Spinges was a "model village" of the South Tyrolean National Socialists. During the 1939 option, a high percentage of the population decided to emigrate to the German Reich. The village priest Jakob Stubenruß (1881-1969) documented the division of the population in his diary and characterised supporters as well as opponents far beyond the local horizon. Armin Mutschlechner explains the most important excerpts from the diary and reconstructs the practical option events in detail. His additional comments on hitherto forgotten Nazi victims are snapshots of meticulous research work against forgetting. "Blood is not Water" is a pioneering work on the period of fascism, option and National Socialism in South Tyrol that is impressive in its scope and level of detail.
