Ridley Scott later directed the film "Blade Runner," which was released in theaters in 1982. Both the novel and the film tell the story of bounty hunter Rick Deckard, who hunts artificial humans. However, the book delves into much more: in a world ravaged by nuclear war, artificial animals have become status symbols, a television religion called "Mercertum" runs rampant, and so-called "mood organs" manipulate people's emotions.
