Bittere Reue

High summer in Painters Mill, Ohio. The heat brings life in the small town to a near standstill, but the calm is abruptly shattered when three children discover the brutally mutilated body of a young Amish man. Just as Police Chief Kate Burkholder identifies the victim, another murder victim is found a few kilometers away. During the investigation, Kate encounters a wall of silence. No one from the Amish community is willing to talk to her about the two young men. Until a mysterious tip comes in, leading Kate to a new lead. But the closer she gets to the perpetrator, the more her fear grows that the secrets simmering beneath the idyllic surface of Painters Mill will claim another life.
