For several years, a body-oriented technique known as "tapping" has been gaining attention in psychology. It is based on so-called energy psychology and has proven to be an exceptionally effective and useful form of emotional self-help. Nowadays, tapping techniques are playing an increasingly significant role in psychotherapy, coaching, and trauma therapy. "Tapping" is easy to learn and is based on a simple principle: while experiencing stress, performance pressure, anxiety, anger, helplessness, or other unpleasant feelings, one "taps" on specific acupuncture points. During this process, specific phrases are spoken that enhance self-acceptance. This approach usually leads to a relatively quick return of our brain to a state of greater problem-solving ability. Performance blockages and distressing, unpleasant feelings tend to diminish.
