The biblical stories are retold by Klaus Knoke in a lively and easily understandable language, while still remaining close to the Bible. The foundation is the Luther Bible in the 1984 translation. The arrangement of the biblical passages follows a historical-chronological order: the narrative spans from creation to the new Jerusalem of Revelation. In the Old Testament section, narratively shaped texts take center stage. The stories of the patriarchs, the exodus of the people of Israel from Egypt, the kings David and Solomon, the prophets Elijah and Jeremiah, as well as other important figures and events are brought to life anew through the style of storytelling. In the New Testament, the events surrounding Jesus Christ form the main focus. The basis is a selection from the four Gospels that provides a comprehensive picture of his work. Experiences and events from the lives of the first Christians are also addressed.
