Bioökonomie

Bioeconomy refers to an economic model that pursues a sustainable approach to economic activity based on the efficient use of biological resources such as plants, animals, and microorganisms. From an ethical standpoint, bioeconomy is promoted and praised as a new concept of sustainable economics, but it is also criticized as a continued form of domination and exploitation of nature. Against this backdrop, the present status report examines the concept of bioeconomy from socio-economic, political science, legal, and economic perspectives and analyzes the ethical discourse on the topic.
