Binding and youth

During the youth period, bonding with peer groups becomes a meaningful bonding system that can provide protection and security for young people and can foster development. On the other hand, it can also be a source of fear that prevents autonomy and individuality. The authors of the volume deal with the following psychological problems in young people who are particularly at risk because of disorganized childhood bonding experiences: - depression - suicidal tendencies - fears - violence - drug abuse - sexual difficulties - eating disorders - dissociation.
