Product details
Education, its influencing factors and consequences are often the subject of scientific, political, and media discourse. Ensuring education is one of the central tasks of society. Educational psychology examines educational processes from a psychological perspective across the entire lifespan, as well as the conditions and measures that can influence these processes.
This textbook presents educational psychology in a completely revised new edition. The systematic structure of the book corresponds to the structural model of educational psychology, which includes the dimensions of educational career, areas of responsibility, and levels of action. The first part of the volume outlines the various phases of an individual educational career, from infancy and early childhood through preschool, primary, secondary, and tertiary education, to middle and late adulthood. Part 2 of the book addresses the areas of responsibility within educational psychology, covering fields such as research, counseling, prevention, intervention, as well as educational monitoring and evaluation. The levels of action (macro, meso, and micro levels) on which these tasks are to be performed are the focus of the third part of the volume.
All chapters of the volume follow a uniform structure, presenting the central theories, models, and empirical findings, highlighting the practical significance of the topic, and providing an outlook on future challenges and tasks for educational psychology. Numerous boxes with examples from research and practice, as well as summaries and reflection questions, contribute to illustrating and deepening the content.
