Bigoscht

In "Bigoscht," Kummer tells cheerful and captivating stories about what drives people – love, work, friendships, as well as nature and aging. The short tales are peppered with dialect expressions, and all dialogue passages are written in the Thurgau dialect. Alongside the "Gschichte" in "Bigoscht," there are "Gedicht" that are consistently written in the Thurgau dialect and resonate with contemporary themes. They explore, with longing, defiance, and playfulness, topics such as anger and courage, the seasons, business dealings, guilt and innocence, new beginnings, nature, and city life – as well as the act of writing. Following the great success of the book "Gaggalaariplatz – Mundart für Aafènger und Fortgschrittni," Arisverlag has decided to "make a mark" and promote local dialect literature. With the newly established series "Edition Gaggalaariplatz," two books will be published annually to highlight modern Swiss dialect. The various German-speaking regions and their distinct idioms will be taken into account. In 2020, the first volume "Bigoscht – Gschichte & Gedicht" by Tanja Kummer will be released.
