Big Karst Chambers

"Big Karst Chambers" is a specialized book that documents and describes 32 natural caves worldwide, each with a width of more than 50 meters. Among these caves, the Sarawak Chamber, the largest underground chamber in the world, is particularly highlighted. The book provides comprehensive information about the geological conditions of these impressive natural phenomena, which have generally not been surveyed before. It presents methods for studying these large karst chambers, including geological sketches, detailed descriptions, and photographic illustrations. Additionally, the process of mechanical displacement of insoluble but erodible rock by underground water is explained. A central concern of this study is the consideration of whether the natural conditions of these chambers can serve as a model for the construction of artificial caves, such as for underground nuclear power plants.
