Biblische Und Kontextuelle Theophanie

Theophany is essential and dynamic in the lives of some biblical main figures. Their religious life and actions were significantly guided and shaped by theophany. Without such experiences, none of them would have embarked on their journey when the divine call came to them. Today, theophanies are interpreted in various ways, often contradicting the biblical messages. The question at hand is as follows: Is it possible to achieve a holistic understanding of biblical theophanies for modern readers? To answer this question, the researcher attempts to elaborate on the significance of theophany from the perspective of liberation. I conduct exegetical studies on three Old Testament passages that belong to the following categories of the Old Testament: Law, Prophecy, and Wisdom. 1) Genesis 18:1-15 2) Isaiah 6:1-13 3) Job 38:1-41:34 I undertake a descriptive study of the primitive religion of the Dalit and the theophany of the Dalit. My particular interest lies in the question of the extent to which the Dalit may have been misled by certain charismatic groups regarding the nature and role of theophany in the social liberation of the Dalit.
