In mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs), various services are offered by mobile nodes that differ significantly in their mobility, available resources, and thus their reliability. The unconscious selection of a service provider for distributed service usage can easily lead to an early termination of the service, for example, by choosing a provider with depleted energy capacity. This book addresses the identification and assessment of the reliability of all potential providers for service usage. The reliability of a provider describes a measure of its expected availability concerning the upcoming service usage. To evaluate the reliability of a provider, its context is analyzed, which includes information such as remaining battery strength and mobility in relation to the participants. The goal is to enable a conscious selection of providers based on their context to reduce service interruptions in MANETs. The book is aimed at companies and institutions focused on context-aware, mobile networks.
