Bewertung der Versiegelungsfähigkeit und Mikroleckage von Gruben- und Fissurenversiegelungen

The sealing of pits and fissures with a resin material in caries-prone teeth creates a micromechanically retained physical protective layer that prevents the demineralization of tooth enamel by blocking the interaction between cariogenic bacteria and their nutrient substrates, thereby eliminating harmful acidic byproducts. The aim of this study was to investigate and compare three different pit and fissure sealants with varying compositions to assess their effectiveness in terms of sealing ability and microleakage.
