Beurteilung der Effektivität von Zweisprachigkeit in der Predigt

Is there usually a language barrier in a heterogeneous community? This study evaluated data collected through questionnaires to determine whether bilingualism in preaching effectively resolves this issue. The forms of bilingualism in preaching practiced by Living Water include code-mixing, code-switching, and the use of an interpreter. The primary factor responsible for bilingual preaching is accommodating different tribes, which was confirmed by 98.7% of respondents. Challenges of bilingual preaching include the lack of precise words in other languages to convey what the preacher intends, and most interpreters provide summaries rather than detailed translations of the preacher's message. Regarding the effectiveness of bilingual sermons, 85.3% of respondents prefer the use of an interpreter over code-mixing or switching (51.3%). Preachers should apply bilingualism when preaching in a heterogeneous society, use simple vocabulary, and employ an interpreter who is proficient in the languages.
