Author text
Philippe Djian, born in Paris in 1949, often changed his residence. Previous stations: New York, Florence, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Lausanne and Paris. At a highway tollbooth, at one of his odd jobs, Djian typed his first novel. Back then, in the eighties, his youthful protagonists were still on the road, and his third novel, Betty Blue, became a cult book. Today his heroes have settled down, but they are still searching for intensity and passion.
