For private users and businesses, an increasing number of services are being offered from the cloud. These offerings include, among other things, the ability to store or process data in the cloud. The advantages of using cloud resources arise, for example, from the scalability of hardware resources or from licensing models based on actual usage duration or the number of users. This work describes how cloud resources can be utilized by companies. It then addresses the aspects of data protection and how these should be considered when company data is stored or processed in the cloud.
