Best of Austria is an attractively designed and representative two-year showcase of Austrian architecture, presenting all the buildings and projects that were awarded architecture prizes in 2010 and 2011. This provides an overview of the production of building culture and architectural achievements in Austria. Around 160 projects - some of them by internationally renowned architects - are presented with photos and selected plans as well as short texts by renowned authors. As a supplement, the awards of individuals are also included in the book in the form of short portraits. A large essay provides an analysis of Austrian architecture and building culture as seen from abroad. The book is supplemented by an extensive index that provides information on the architecture awards (goals, number of submissions, members of the juries, publications, etc.).
